Bournemouth has decent rail and bus services, with excellent connections to destinations around the country. There are many places of interest in the beautiful surrounding countryside and it's possible to hire a car in order to explore further afield. The road and motorway networks around Bournemouth are decent and parking in the town is rarely problematic, although traffic can be heavy at times.

Bournemouth has two main train stations, one in the town centre and the other to the east of the town. There are regular trains to destinations around England and to journey to London Waterloo takes about 1 hour, 30 minutes. Coaches also provide good access to destinations beyond Bournemouth including Heathrow International Airport and London Victoria.

Local buses are a cheap and convenient way to get around the town and are relied upon by both residents and visitors alike. Bournemouth's bus station is situated next to Bournemouth's main train station.

Bournemouth is served by several airports, the closest being Bournemouth International Airport, but you can also fly to Southampton or one of London's airports and then travel to Bournemouth by rail or road.
